A selection of holiday apartments in Barcelona's center, close to the world's famous Ramblas.
Whether you are coming to Barcelona for the first time or you are a real Fan of the Catalan Capital, you are probably aware that the Ramblas is the most representative attraction of Barcelona.
La Rambla can be considered a series of shorter streets, each differently named, hence the plural forms Les Rambles From the Plaça de Catalunya toward the harbor, the street is successively the Rambla de Canaletes, the Rambla dels Estudis, the Rambla de Sant Josep, the Rambla dels Caputxins, and the Rambla de Santa Monica. Construction of the Maremagnum in the early 1990s resulted in a continuation of La Rambla on a wooden walkway into the harbor, the Rambla de Mar.
The Gothic quater, where is located the Rambla, is divided into 3 parts, all of them quite different and with its own charm:
The gothic: with the cathedral, the left side of the Ramblas and the Townhouse. Famous for its incredible architechure and countless shops.
The Raval, also called Barrí Xinés,meaning "Chinatown." El Raval is one of the two historical neighborhoods that border the Rambla (the other being the Barri Gòtic).
And finally the Born, Barcelona's most fashionable neighbourhood, with designers shops, tapas bars and an unlimited number of bars.
The gothic and Born ar by far the nicest areas of the Old town, being semi-pedestrian, full of architecture and very safe
